I’m sure that we have all seen the science fiction movies where the ships computer is an artificial intelligence and controls everything. This could be a fact during the next couple of years.

In our present days, we allow computers to handle navigation of our rockets simply because it is too complicated for us. In the future, maybe other functions would be acquired by computers and we will reach a state of development just like we see in Hollywood movies. Astronauts rely on computers for everything, from navigation to habitat control; computers control most of the spaceships functions. A human could not take on such complex functions because it would be time consuming and too demanding.

Would it be great if the future of spaceships would bring us an artificial intelligence? To avoid any unwanted button pressing, it would be a lot easier just to give a verbal command to the computer and them to be executed immediately. It would be time efficient and precise. This is the domain of science fiction, but could become a reality in the next couple of years. The way our technology keeps evolving, I wouldn’t be surprised if I got to see such a ting.
